The Ithaca College rowing teams competed against Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Trinity College, University of New Hampshire and Colby College on April 16 in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The women’s team rowed its way to victory in the second varsity 8 and novice 8.
The second varsity 8 came from behind to finish first out of six boats over WPI by less than a second.
The novice 8 then won by 14 seconds over second place New Hampshire with a time of 7:06.20.
In the varsity 8, the Bombers won their heat by beating Trinity and New Hampshire. In the finale, the Blue and Gold came in second to Trinity by .32 seconds with a time of 6:43.79. The Bombers placed second in the third varsity 8 with a time of 7:22.53.
The men’s team placed fifth out of six boats in the third varsity 8, 17 seconds behind the first place finisher, with a time of 6:39.0. The best finish of the day for the Bombers was a third place finish in the varsity 8 with a time of 6:05.53.
The Bombers will compete next at 11 a.m. April 23 on the Cayuga Inlet when it hosts Colgate University, Marist College and Hamilton College.
