The Ithaca College women’s golf team finished in seventh place out of nine teams at the Jack Leaman Invitational at Amherst College at the Hickory Ridge Golf Club on April 16–17 in Amherst, Massachusetts.
The squad concluded the final round of the invitational with a team score of 337, which was the fifth-best score on the day. The South Hill squad carded a total team score of 710 on the par-74.
The Bombers opened up day one with a team score 373, which placed them at eighth place to kick start the event.
Sophomore Kyra Denish led the Blue and Gold in the early going when she carded an opening-round score of 85 that was good enough for 16th place among individual golfers 11 over par.
With her score of 89, junior Kimberley Wong was the second-highest scorer behind Denish for the Bombers after day one.
Denish continued the momentum into the second day, trimming nine shots off her stroke as she recorded a 76, two-over par round, for a two-day score of 161. Her total score earned her fifth place individually overall.
Wong also found success on day two as she shaved 12 shots off her score. She shot a 77, three-over par, for a two-day score of 166 which tied her for 16th place at the end of the day.
The Blue and Gold are back in action noon April 23–24 when they host the Bomber Invitational at the Country Club at Ithaca.
