The Ithaca College volleyball team traveled to Alfred University Sept. 27, where they defeated the Saxons 3–1.
Alfred took the first set in a competitive affair with a final score of 25–23. The Blue and Gold bounced back with a ten point win in the second set. In the third set, the action was back and forth and the Bombers took a 10–8 early lead. The Blue and Gold stretched the lead to 21–14 later in the set. They eventually won the third set 25–14.
In the fourth set, the Bombers jumped out to a 4–0 lead. The Blue and Gold eventually took a 16–6 lead and held on to win by a score of 25–14.
Junior outside hitter Joelle Goldstein led the team with 15 kills and 18.5 points. Freshman setter Caitlyn Floyd led the team with 16 assists while junior setter Kayla Gromen contributed 13 assists.
The Bombers are now 13–4 on the season. They return to action on at 6 p.m. Oct. 4th when they travel to Cortland to face SUNY Cortland.
