The Ithaca College men’s and women’s crew sent one boat each to compete in the Head of the Charles on Oct. 23 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Head of the Charles is the world’s largest two-day rowing event. The prestigious regatta, which was founded in 1965, featured 2,256 entries and 820 different teams, ranging from high school, college, professional and master boats.
The women’s team, consisting of sophomore Savannah Brija, juniors Colby D’Onofrio, Emily Vosburg, Karina Feitner, Libby Burns and Catlynn Frank and seniors Rebecca Veninsky and Jacqueline McDevitt placed second out of 28 boats.
In the men’s team sent freshmen Nicholas Tagg and Oliver Perrine, sophomores Eric  Stamer and Max Halliday, juniors Stephen Cadoux and Ben Zerivitz and seniors William Brown and Alex Martin. The boat placed 19th out of 37 boats in the men’s collegiate eights race.
The Bombers will continue their season at 8 a.m. Oct. 29Â at the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia.
