Coming off a three game winning streak, the Ithaca College men’s basketball team lost to SUNY Cortland 103–65 Nov. 29. The Bombers are now 3–2 on the season.
To start the game, the Bombers were on the board first, leading 2–0. The Red Dragons quickly pounced on offensive opportunities and were leading by 15 in the first 10 minutes of the half. The Bombers ended the half trailing by 27, with a score of 50–23.
In the second half, the Blue and Gold could not catch up, however, were able to shorten the lead to 17 points almost 11 minutes into the half. The Red Dragons were able to secure the win 103–65.
Sophomore forward Peter Ezema led the Bombers in points with 22. Sophomore guard Matt Flood was the only other Bomber to score double-digits with 12.
For the Red Dragons, junior guard James Morales put up 22 points and accumulated three steals. The Red Dragons received assistance from their bench, as sophomore guard Nicky Bonura entered the game for 15 minutes and scored 14 points. Sophomore guard Justin Cooper put up 17 points as well in Cortland’s third win of its season.
The Blue and Gold will continue their season on the road against St. Lawrence University at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 in Canton, New York.
