It was 9:30 p.m. on a Monday night when I finally made it to the gym. I stepped on the elliptical, and turned on the TV.
Flipping through channels, I decided to watch Family Guy. It was my favorite episode—where Lois teaches Sex Ed at Meg’s school—so I literally had to stop working out at one point because I was laughing so hard.
During commercials I put on High School Musical, because I saw it once and thought it was cute. Within 30 seconds I felt like a creep. There was no character above what I assume is supposed to be 16 years old, and Zac Efron’s voice sounded pre-pubescent. I remember thinking he was cute in the movie, but I was probably also around the character’s age.
If you’re familiar with Ithaca College, flipping between High School Musical and Family Guy made me feel like I was party hopping between an Ithacappella party and Second Floor.
After a bit I decided to stick to Family Guy, partially out of fear that someone would see me watching High School Musical, and partially because I couldn’t stand the sound of that female lead’s voice.
