“This week will be hard for you,” my teacher told us last Monday.
Awesome.
It was my first class on Monday and the week was already rough, but him saying so didn’t make it better. The dining hall was out of chocolate soymilk, so I was stuck with cranberry juice. Then my teacher took the liberty to remind us that it was midterm week.
Not to mention the fact that every club decided to have a 5K or some variation of it this weekend, on top of my having to write a paper. Only there was also the Voice Stream concert, Ithacappella concert, a presentation by Bell Hooks and more. So where did I find myself this weekend? Waking up at 8:00 a.m. both days to get the homework I had been putting off done.
Okay, so I brought it on myself by not doing any work during the week, but still. You would think that if teachers knew midterms were awful, they would say, “Hey, we’re going to do our midterm a week earlier, so it spaces out your work.” But no, instead they say, “I know this week sucks for you, but I don’t care because I went through it already and now I get to inflict this pain upon you all,” before adding the worst of it: “But don’t think it’s all easy for us, we have to grade the papers and tests.”
