I wanted to start my semester off on the right foot. I went to bed early, woke up early, and had everything prepared for the first day. While getting dressed this morning, I even looked past my normal sweatpants and sweatshirt, deciding to wear jeans and a nice shirt. I am a second semester sophomore, I though, I should look like one.
My 9 a.m. class is potentially an online course, though that’s still unresolved in my head. Either way, I didn’t need to attend. More time to prepare for my 10 a.m. class, I thought.
I walked into my 10 a.m. education course ready for what was to come. I had the books, some paper and a pen with me.
“Excuse me, you didn’t call my name,” I said after attendance was taken.
“Who are you?” the teacher asked.
“Lilly Miller,” I said.
After going back and forth for a minute, I finally asked the inevitable question.
“What class is this?” I asked.
It turns out that I can’t read. My 9.m. is actually at 10 a.m., and my 10 a.m. is actually at 11 a.m.
Off to a good start, I thought as a grabbed my belongings and left the room.
