For someone who doesn’t have midterms, my teachers seem to be sneaking a lot of “midterm-like” assignments my way.
It started with one essay for a class due this week. Easy enough. I took the essay as a midterm because the title was “midterm paper.” The teacher is fairly strait forward, so I didn’t mind it.
Then all of a sudden I find out today that I have another paper due Thursday. She didn’t call it a midterm, but the paper reflects what we have learned now that we are “mid way” through the “term.” Interesting choice of words there, Teacher. Especially because it is a speech communication class, so I’m fairly positive that the wording of such assignments are thought out.
The third class that threw on an assignment last minute was the real tipping point to me that I might be experiencing midterms right now. It is just a regular homework assignment, but still, the timing of it seems fishy; starting a big project right now. Coincidence? I think not.
Either way, I’m keeping my radar up, because despite being told that I don’t have midterms, I seem to be finding myself in that mode.
