The men’s track and field team kicked off the outdoor season Friday at Princeton University’s Sam Howell Memorial Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
The Bombers were slotted to begin the season March 26 at the Ithaca College/SUNY-Cortland Invitational in Cortland, N.Y., but the event was postponed because of snow.
The invitational at Princeton was the first time the Bombers had competed since March 11 at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Columbus, Ohio.
Six of the Bombers’ distance runners competed at Princeton and three of them met Eastern College Athletic Conference championships qualifying standards. Sophomore David Geary, who finished 37th in the 1,500-meter run in 4:01.36, graduate student William Way, who finished 56th in the 5,000-meter run in 15:13.80 and junior Daniel Craighead finished 33rd in the 10,000-meter run in 32:24.06, all qualified for ECACs.
Sophomore Nate Bickell finished 39th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:04.00 and junior Brian McCormick finished 41st in 3:51.00. Senior and team co-captain John Davis
