The men’s cross-country team wrapped up the 2011 regular season today, finishing fifth out of 34 teams at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble in Oberlin, Ohio. The Bombers finished with 230 points, falling behind Albion College (Mich.), Allegheny College (Pa.), St. Vincent College (Pa.) and Ohio Wesleyan University. Junior Nathan Bickell recorded the Bombers’ top individual time, finishing 12th out of 236 runners in 26:07.8.
Senior captain Daniel Craighead finished 18th overall in 26:19.4 and junior David Geary finished 40th in 26:46.4.
Rounding out the South Hill squad’s top seven, junior Mark Vorensky finished 56th in 26:58.2, junior Billy Savage finished 104th in 27:36.8, freshman Dennis Ryan finished 147th in 28:08.0 and sophomore Sam Horwath finished 206th in 28:39.1.
The next full meet for the Blue and Gold will be the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Championships at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence University.
