I just recently started hearing about this band, Poliça. I never really made an attempt to dig into their catalogue until my friend asked me what I thought about them the other night. So I decided it was time to figure out what was up with Poliça.
Good music is up with Poliça. This is stereotypical made-for-me music. Their song “Amongster” draws from echoing vocals (as does much of the album), blasts of distorted synthesizer and thunderous percussion. As is true with many shoegaze songs these days, the track starts out in a calm, hypnotic fashion only to morph into a powerful melee of weaving sonic components.
