Expectations were exceeded and a pair of school records were broken as the
men’s indoor track team placed 13th out of 62 schools at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships.
Senior Doug Koury and Junior Alec Svoboda provided two top-ten finishes in the heptathlon. Svoboda broke his own school record in the event with an overall
score of 4,313 points, including a first place finish in the pole vault. Koury finished seventh overall with 4,227 points while winning the 1,000-meter run.
Senior Jusan Hamilton smashed the previous program record in the weight throw with a heave of 17.70 meters. The mark was nearly 1 meter more than the previous record holder Drew Davidson ’03, who had a heave of 16.84 meters.
Junior Billy Savage, junior Matthew Kastler, freshman Mason Mann and freshman Dennis Ryan finished .65 seconds short of the school record in the 4×800-meter relay.
