Leslie Schettino, director of Ithaca College’s Office of Student Disability Services, died Thursday evening, according to an Intercom release authored by Marisa Kelly, provost and vice president of academic affairs.
Schettino began working for the college’s disability services office in 1994 and assumed the role of director in September 1999, the release said.
“All who had the pleasure of knowing and working with Leslie know the depth of her commitment to our students and her willingness to advocate for those with special needs,” Kelly said in the release.
Services were held at the Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden, N.Y., on Saturday, according to the release. The release said the Center for Counseling and Wellness is offering support to any students in need.
