Since the success of P!nk’s 2006 album “I’m Not Dead,” her penchant for pop rock has been her foolproof claim to success, and her sixth studio album “The Truth About Love” is no different.
While P!nk’s bratty attitude and bad-girl persona have stayed the same, her delivery has improved greatly. The abrasive “Slut Like You” shows that she can make a clever statement shine through a less-than-eloquent lyric. P!nk sings, “You male come now / You caveman sit down / You, shh don’t ruin it, wow / Check please.” Nearly every song, from the witty “How Come You’re Not Here” to the honest, sexual confessional “Walk of Shame,” paints P!nk as a reckless partier with a heart of gold.
Though she pulls off the “rebel without a cause” schtick with a high level of believability, “The Truth About Love” focuses less on musical fortitude than her previous work and cashes in on the sonic success of her last three albums.
