Sanvello seeking student brand ambassadors at Ithaca College
The Center for Health Promotion at Ithaca College is seeking student ambassadors for the Sanvello app. Sanvello is a self-care app that provides students with resources to manage their mental health. Student brand ambassadors will be expected to organize meetings in classrooms, student organizations and residence halls. They will also be involved in community outreach, creating social media content, promoting merchandise and recruiting more student ambassadors. Student ambassadors will have access to perks, like getting free merchandise and volunteer hours. IC Nature Rx looking for members
Ithaca College’s chapter of Nature Rx is seeking members of the campus community to get involved with the organization. The mission and goal of IC Nature Rx is to connect students and faculty with the outdoors to work on mental wellness. IC Nature Rx released its first newsletter with a compilation of mental health and nature resources in the area, which can be found here. Nobel prize winner to give lecture on lithium batteries and renewable energy
Stanley Whittingham, distinguished professor at SUNY Binghamton and director of Northeast Center for Chemical Energy Storage at Binghamton University, received a Nobel Prize in chemistry in 2019 and will be visiting Ithaca College. Whittingham will teach two lectures about lithium batteries and renewable energy at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 19 in Textor 101 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 21 in Textor 102, respectively. Demonstration of Student Success Dashboard for facultyÂ
Elizabeth Bleicher, dean of Student Success and Retention, will be facilitating a session for faculty to help them navigate the Student Success Dashboard from 10:50 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Center for Faculty Excellence. The dashboard is a tool for faculty advisers that keeps them updated on students’ academic progress and concerns. The session will include a demonstration of the student view of the dashboard and information about student privacy and policies. Knowledge to Action retreat open to all students on a rolling basisÂ
The Office of Student Engagement is organizing a Knowledge to Action Retreat on Nov. 4 in Auburn, NY. Participants will visit the Harriet Tubman National Historical Park and the New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center. They will also get an opportunity to interact with an alumni panel and take part in the retreat for free. The retreat will count for three Leading in a Diverse World sessions in the Student Leadership Institute. Registration is taking place on a rolling basis and students are encouraged to register via IC Engage as soon as they can.
