Football head coach Brandon Maguire announced the promotion of three staff members March 19, including naming Will Margraff the new defensive coordinator. Maguire makes his first coaching staff moves after being hired Feb. 3 to succeed Michael Toerper.
Maguire also announced offensive line coach Drew Miller ’21 will adopt the role of recruiting coordinator and Will Gladney ’20 will be hired as a full-time wide receivers coach.
Margraff, who formally served as the linebackers and co-special teams coordinator for the 2025 season, will fill in the role Toerper left vacant when he accepted a position at Cornell University. In 2025, Margraff oversaw two All-Liberty League linebackers, senior Ryan Burns and junior Henry Takacs. Before coming to South Hill, Margraff held experience coaching at the Division I level at Marist University and the University of Pennsylvania.
Margraff will inherit the control of a defense that allowed just an average of 14.9 points and 147 yards per game in 2025.
Gladney, the programs’ all-time leading receiver, takes the jump from assistant to lead wide receivers coach. In 2025, the Bombers averaged 8.05 yards per passing attempt and averaged 210.80 receiving yards per game. Miller will continue his former duties while overseeing recruiting efforts.
Maguire has filled all major vacancies in-house before the 2026 kickoff. In the announcement to Ithaca College Athletics, Maguire said the coaches “provide stability for the program and the players, while bringing energy, experience, and a commitment to carrying on the Bomber standard of excellence.”
