1. Career Services is sponsoring a LinkedIn workshop at 2:30 p.m. in Muller 101. The workshop, “Make LinkedIn Work for You,” will explore the connections between career success and a LinkedIn profile, and it will share tips on how to create a profile that employers want to see. All students interested can register through eRecruiting.

2. There is a screening of “The Gettysburg Story” at 8 p.m. in the Willard Straight Theatre at Cornell University. The film tells the story of one of the most well-known battles of the Civil War.

1. The Center for the Study of Culture, Race and Ethnicity sponsored a faculty-student workshop Monday night in Clark Lounge. George Coyne, a faculty member at LeMoyne College, visited Cornell University on Monday night to give a lecture called “The Dance of the Fertile Universe: An Interplay of Science and Religion.” In addition to being a Jesuit priest, Coyne is also one of the best-known astronomers in the United States. Researchers at Cornell University have discovered that food order in a buffet line matters, and if healthy food is offered before high-calorie food in the line, 86 percent of eaters choose the healthier option. The study found that placing high-calorie items, such as cheesy eggs, first in the line resulted in the eaters selecting unhealthy choices later in the line as well. If healthy food like fruit is offered first, eaters are less likely to choose a higher-calorie option later on.
