The Ithaca College men’s basketball team tipped off its 2015–16 campaign by paying a visit to Skidmore College and coming out the other side with a convincing 90–84 win.

While the lead changed hands often in the first half, the second frame saw the Bombers start to pull away and hold the advantage until the final whistle blew.

Sophomore guard Marc Chasin led the way for the Bombers with 22 points and seven rebounds. Chasin averaged 14.8 points per contest last season en route to being named the Empire 8 Freshman of the Year and Eastern College Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year.

Senior guard Sam Bevan, the lone senior on the team, added 18 points of his own and went 4-for-5 from 3-point territory.

Free throws played a big part in the win for the South Hill squad, as 36 of the 90 points scored came from the charity stripe.

Chasin went 12-for-15 from the line, while sophomore guard Joey Flanagan made all 16 of his attempts on his way to a 20-point day.

Two Bomber freshmen saw significant playing time as well for the young squad, as forward Luke Cooper and guard Peter Ezema totaled 23 and 21 minutes on the floor, respectively, with Ezema contributing 16 points to the win.

The Blue and Gold get back to action at 7 p.m. Nov. 17 when they go on the road again to take on the University of Scranton.
