Born out of Boston’s college music scene, electro-pop act Bearstronaut is poised to become one of the next big names in the indie circle. With its new five-track album “Paradice,” the group cranks the synthesizers to the max and gets the dance juices flowing.

Bearstronaut employs a healthy mix of groovy percussive elements and blazing synth licks to get listeners in a dancing mood. The group manages to pick the best characteristics of contemporaries Two Door Cinema Club, Passion Pit and Penguin Prison to meld an infectious and bombastic sound they can put their name on.

The album’s leadoff single, “Passenger Side,” combines Caribbean-esque vibes with a funky bass line to make any dance fiend’s dreams come true. Lead singer David Martineau preps listeners for a night on the town as he sings, “Pick me up / let’s take a ride / let me see the city from the passenger side.”

Even though “Paradice” is composed of only five tracks, the band packs quite the wallop in the 20 minutes it has to work with. One thing is for sure: This will certainly leave listeners with a hankering for more.
