On April 30, the Ithaca College Student Governance Council announced the elected executive board and senate candidates for the 2025-26 academic year. Six candidates were elected to SGC’s executive board and nine candidates were elected to senate for the 2025-26 academic year. There are 17 vacant senate positions that candidates will be able to run for in Fall 2025 elections.
Executive board results
Junior Rishabh Sen was reelected as the president of the student body after running unopposed with 282 votes and 28 votes of no confidence, which means that the voter chose to abstain from voting for that candidate.
Sophomore Eva Horst was reelected as the vice president of campus affairs with 204 votes. She ran against junior Noeline Luyindula who received 93 votes. Both candidates received 13 votes of no confidence.
Junior Asata Rothblatt was elected as the vice president of academic affairs with 219 votes. She ran against first-year student Amelia Grimshaw who received 60 votes. Both candidates received 31 votes of no confidence. The position was vacant before Asata was elected.
Sophomore Juno Brooks was elected as the vice president of business and finance with 145 votes. He ran against junior Login Abudalla who received 135 votes. Both candidates received 30 votes of no confidence. Brooks will be taking over the role from senior Kathi Hodel.
Junior Caleb Cackowski was reelected as the vice president of communications after running unopposed with 281 votes and 29 votes of no confidence.
Junior Ty Anderson was reelected as the vice president of residential affairs after running unopposed with 275 votes and 35 votes of no confidence.
Senate results
First-year student Manan Maini was reelected as one of the Class of 2028 senators with 46 votes. First-year student Jagrit Dhingra was also elected as one of the Class of 2028 senators with 51 votes. Both candidates received 10 votes of no confidence. Both candidates ran unopposed.
First-year student Abe Marron was reelected as a senator-at-large with 180 votes. First-year student Ty Sayahi was also elected as a senator-at-large with 174 votes. Junior Nikki Sutera, the current senate chair, was elected as a senator-at-large with 220 votes. All of the candidates ran unopposed and received 42 votes of no confidence.
First-year student Pranat Shah was elected as the senator for the School of Communications after running unopposed with 81 votes and 18 votes of no confidence.
Sophomore Angel Pandey was elected as the senator for the School of Business after running unopposed with 16 votes and three votes of no confidence.
Junior Marshall Long was reelected as the club athlete senator after running unopposed with 35 votes and five votes of no confidence.
First-year student Luis Antonio Toriche was elected as the first-generation senator after running unopposed with 54 votes and five votes of no confidence.
There are 17 open senate positions that will be open for candidates to run for in Fall 2025: both Class of 2029 senators, both Class of 2027 senators, both Class of 2026 senators, the senator for the School of Humanities and Sciences, the senator for the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, the senator for the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, the international senator, the transfer senator, the graduate senator, the varsity athlete senator, the Student of Color Coalition senator, the off-campus senator and two senators-at-large.
