Homework… To do, Or Not To Do?

It’s hard to put your studies first when you don’t want to. Correction, I want to, kind of sort of.

Let me explain. I want to do my homework so that I am prepared for class. But when I go to check my email and see some of my greatest friends on Google-Chat, I would rather talk to them for hours than read about lighting in studios and whatnot.

I want to study opera, but opera music makes me want to throw up a little bit.

And finally, I want to go on cool Cross Cultural Leadership Retreats, but Cortaca weekend? Really, Ithaca College? It’s the biggest football weekend of the year. Many people are coming back to visit. I am not even going to the game and I wouldn’t miss that weekend for the world.

So I do want to do my work most of the time, but it’s hard when the options are subbing in for your friend’s volleyball game or list the differences between Jessye Norman’s preparation for performances and Maria Callas’.
