Meeting Mr. Belding

“Hi Mr. Belding,” I said. What else was I supposed to say? I was standing with Mr. Belding.

I was with two friends, Amanda and Bailey, at a conference for the Student Activities Board, and for some reason Mr. Belding from “Saved by the Bell” came.

“Are you from Ithaca College?” He asked, after seeing my tee shirt.

“Yeah, we are,” I said. Mr. Belding was talking to us!

“I love IC kids, they come to this bar out in Burbank, California, and do Karaoke,” he said. He was referring to the students who study in Los Angeles from IC for a semester. Something that Amanda is doing this coming spring.

After discussing the fact that Amanda and Mr. Belding can become best friends, we finally got the courage to ask him for a picture. After which I immediately texted to all of my friends.

I didn’t ask him if he is still great friends with the rest of the Bayside high school gang, or if he got to keep any of the sweet 1980s stuff, or if he could be my best friend. But I did tell him that I watch his show every Thursday morning with my roommate, Cassie, in the dining hall before class. I figure becoming best friends with him will happen eventually.
