Administrators say IC is on track to reduce budget deficit at Dollars and Sense

At the March 6 Dollars and Sense meeting, Rakin “Rock” Hall, vice president for enrollment management, gave updates on enrollment efforts, and Tim Downs, senior vice president for finance and administration and chief financial officer, presented a budget outlook for Fiscal Year 2027. With admittance numbers on track to meet enrollment goals, Downs said the budget balancing process is headed in the right direction.  
The ADHD study sessions occurs weekly, from 7-9 p.m. on Thursdays. Each session offers a designated place for students to get work done, in addition to monthly workshops that cover a variety of topics.

Support center expands programming for students with ADHD

Starting in Spring 2026, programming for students with ADHD at Ithaca College has expanded from monthly workshops to body doubling study sessions. The ADHD study sessions take place from 7-9 p.m. on Thursdays in the Taughannock Falls Room, which is located on the third floor of the Campus Center. 
Student organizations are persisting on, ensuring their celebrations, showcases and events will come to fruition despite not having the money they anticipated because of a $20K cut in the SGC Appropriation Committee's fund.

Student organizations persevere amid $20K SGC budget cut and funding challenges

In a round of budget cuts directed in December 2025 from the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life, the Student Governance Council Appropriations Committee’s budget for Spring 2026 was reduced by $20K. The cut, and gaps in communication between SGC and the student body, sparked frustration and confusion among student organizations planning events for the semester.

SGC tables new accessibility senator bill

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met Feb. 23 to hear updates from Elizabeth Bleicher, dean of student success, about the Academic Support Center and to vote on a bill that would create a new student accessibility senator position.
Less than one week into Spring 2026, the Student Emergency Relief Fund committee announced that all available funding for course materials had been exhausted after the amount of academic course material funding distributed has steadily increased for the past three semesters.

Less than one week into Spring 2026, the Student Emergency Relief Fund committee announced that all available funding for course materials had been exhausted. Each semester, funds are set aside to help Ithaca College students experiencing financial hardship purchase required course materials, and this aid is in more demand than ever before.
