A former Ithaca College student, Jonathan D’Agostino, was declared missing by the New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation Department Sept. 10. Video footage showed him leaving the IC campus around 6:30 a.m. Sept. 7, according to the missing person release. An IC spokesperson told Syracuse.com he last attended IC in Fall 2023.

In the summer months around Cayuga Lake, familiar green clumps can be spotted on the water. These are harmful algal blooms (HABs), potentially toxic growths of bacteria that can harm people and animals. As Earth's temperature continues to rise, HABs reports have drastically increased over the last four decades, making them a more difficult issue to contain. However, the Ithaca community has many ways of managing them.Â
