Public Safety reports two Lyon Hall laptop burglaries

The Office of Public Safety has reported two burglaries in Lyon Hall.

Tom Dunn, an investigator for Public Safety, said unknown parties stole two laptops from two rooms in Lyon Hall, one from each room. Dunn said the possibility remains that the laptops were stolen any time between March 9 and March 18, when Public Safety first learned of the incidents.

Dunn said he cannot yet confirm whether the incidents were connected but added that two thefts reported on the same day in one residence hall is “suspicious.”

There was no sign of forced entry into either room, Dunn said, and both rooms were locked when the computers were stolen.

The Office of Public Safety is continuing to investigate the case and encourages anyone with pertinent information to call their offices at 274-3333 or to leave an anonymous tip at 274-1060.
