The Ithaca College field hockey team had its three-game win streak snapped at the hands of the St. John Fisher College Cardinals in an Empire 8 Conference matchup Oct 1. The Bombers lost by a score of 3–0, and the team now moves to 5–4 on the year.

Three different Cardinals scored to help St. John Fisher move to 8–2 on the year. The win today marks Fisher’s seventh win in a row.

The Bombers and Cardinals were scoreless at the half. However, during the 52nd minute of the game, St. John Fisher broke open the scoring when sophomore forward Lauren Fazio scored the first goal of the game. Two minutes later, junior forward Emily Markarian added the second goal of the game for the Cardinals. The third and final goal was scored by Cardinals freshman forward Kelly Bergamo during the 66th minute of the game.

The Blue and Gold made a run at the end of the game, hammering three shots on goal to go along with three penalty corners in the last five minutes of the game. The Bombers outshot 25–8. The Bombers senior goalkeeper Katie Lass finished with 17 saves out of 25 total shots.

The Blue and Gold will play William Smith College on Oct. 8 at noon in Geneva, New York.
