IC women’s soccer suffers loss to Misericordia University

The Ithaca College women’s soccer team suffered its third loss of the season in an out-of-conference matchup to Misericordia University. The Bombers fell 3–0 to the Cougars, and now own an overall record of 10–3–2.

The Cougars got on the board early with a goal by junior Alex Gallagher in the 15th minute of play.

They continued their dominance over the Bombers in the a little over two minutes later when Misericordia junior Kailee Crockett put one passed the Blue and Gold goalkeeper, sophomore Stacey DiGiorgio, to put the Cougars up 2–0.

At the end of the first half, the Cougars had six corner kicks, while the Bombers were unable to achieve one. Misericordia took 11 shots, which was five more than the Bombers.

In the second half, the Cougars quickly added to their lead with a goal by sophomore Ashley Edgell in the 54th minute.

The Bombers fought, putting up six shots in the second half, but ultimately fell short. DiGiorgio made 11 saves, total.

The Bombers’ final match of their regular season will be against Empire 8 opponent, Stevens Institute of Technology at noon Oct. 29 in Hoboken, New Jersey.
