Men’s Track and Field: Koury leads Blue and Gold with two ECAC-qualifying marks

The men’s track and field team had two ECAC qualifiers yesterday in the Coach P Invitational at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa.

Senior captain Doug Koury had a hand in both qualifiers. Koury, freshman Rashaad Barrett, and sophomores Brennon Edmonds and Jake Willis made up the 4×100-meter relay team that qualified with a time of 42.78 seconds. The relay squad finished second in the event behind Lehigh University, who finished in 42.03 seconds.

Koury also qualified for the ECACs in the 400-meter dash at 49 seconds flat.

Junior Nathan Bickell won the steeplechase with a time of 9:44.75. The race
was won by less than a second over Utica College junior Hunter Padgett.

The Coach P Invitational was the last meet before the team attempts to win its fifth straight Empire 8 Conference outdoor track and field championship. The championship meet will be held Saturday, April 21 at Butterfield Stadium.
