Ambitious adaptation misses the mark with ‘Frankenstein’

Since Mary Shelley released her novel “Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus” in 1818, the tale has received hundreds of adaptations, spanning from film to television to plays.
Ithaca College students in the communication strategy and design (CSD) major and minor received an email Oct. 20 explaining that the program would no longer be offered or accept new students starting Fall 2026.

Ithaca College students in the communication strategy and design (CSD) major and minor received an email Oct. 20 explaining that the program would no longer be offered or accept new students starting Fall 2026. In the place of CSD, the school will offer a revised advertising, public relations and marketing communications (APRMC) major and minor.

Women’s basketball eyes Division I season opener

For the first time in nearly 15 years, the Ithaca College women’s basketball team will take on a Division I opponent during its season-opener against the DI Colgate University Raiders.
A $4.6 million estate gift was added to the Bill and Donna Bergmark Scholarship fund between February 2024 and March 2025, in one of the largest donations the school has received in about four years.

Ithaca College’s Department of Chemistry is expanding scholarship opportunities to incoming students. A $4.6 million estate gift was added to the Bill and Donna Bergmark Scholarship fund between February 2024 and March 2025, in one of the largest donations the school has received in about four years.

SGC deliberate on IC’s artificial intelligence policy with provost

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met Nov. 10 to hear from Melanie Stein, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, to speak about changes to departments and student concerns regarding artificial intelligence in education.

Gymnastics sticks together for team qualification

In the 2024-25 season, the Ithaca College gymnastics team sent six individual athletes to the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association National Championships, but it was not quite enough to qualify them as a team. This year, they are looking to the experienced veterans and eager first-year athletes to take them to the championship as a unit.

Latin Civic Association invites community to celebrate Latine artists

On the evening of Nov. 7, community members from the Ithaca area gathered to celebrate Latine and Hispanic artists at an exhibit reception hosted by the Latino Civic Association of Tompkins County.
IC’s performance departments should create more spaces for non-majors to engage with theater through performances and production. By opening theater and production participation to all majors more fully, IC can foster a more inclusive and dynamic campus arts community.
