According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of PAs is projected to grow by 31% from 2019 to 2029, which is faster than the average for all other occupations. 

IC physician assistant program approved for accreditation

Ithaca College has received approval to launch its Master of Science in physician assistant studies, which will admit students beginning in Fall 2021. 
Luke Keller, co-chair of the self-study and Dana professor of physics and astronomy, said Middle States representatives will be on campus Feb. 25–28 in 2018 to see if the college meets the criteria mentioned in the final report. The final accreditation decision will be made in June, he said.

In order for Ithaca College to award students with legitimate degrees, it has to go through an accreditation process by the Middle States Commission.
Vince DeTuri, director of the Integrative Core Curriculum, has been in the position for a year. Hes spent his time trying to pass more policies to better the ICC and work with professors to create more ICC classes. However, student and faculty criticism still exist that the ICC has flaws that arent being addressed.

A year into his tenure as the Integrative Core Curriculum director, Vincent DeTuri said he and the Committee on College-Wide Requirements are planning to make the ICC more manageable by changing some of its requirements after facing complaints among faculty and students that there are still many problems with the ICC.
Carol Henderson, college associate provost for accreditation, assessment and curriculum, said it is unlikely the college will be denied accreditation.
