Vince DeTuri, director of the Integrative Core Curriculum, said the Park Schools proposal is on hold until the ICC program review during the 2018–19 academic year. The proposal calls for an expansion of the Liberal Arts and Society theme, which currently is only available to transfer students.

Around 86 percent of the students were in favor of eliminating the themes and almost 83 percent found the themes to be restrictive.
On March 2, the college closed after news of a winter storm warning. Cornell University, SUNY Cortland and Binghamton University also closed because of anticipated harsh nor’easter conditions.

 Carl Cohen, Parking Services supervisor, said at the beginning of October, parking services will begin issuing “friendly reminders” in place of parking tickets to those who don’t have a validation sticker. After three reminders, drivers will begin receiving parking tickets.

CAPS’ wait times increase as more students request services

Despite an added counselor and phone screening system, an increased number of students at Ithaca College are using counseling services this semester.
About 70 Ithaca College students rallied against Trump and hate Nov. 10 in a procession down South Hill. The group displayed signs that read, Love Trumps Hate and We Dont Support Hate.

Ithaca College students join nationwide rallies against hate

Students held up anti-hate–themed signs, and some showed their support by honking as they drove by the group. Conversely, one person, riding in a red pickup truck, flipped off the students.
The date to begin filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid has been moved to Oct. 1, three months earlier than the previous Jan. 1 date. The application is now live for students to begin filling out the application, and the Ithaca College Office of Student Financial Services is working on notifying students of the change.

National FAFSA filing date bumped up three months

The U.S. Department of Education has moved the filing date for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid to Oct. 1, from the previous Jan. 1 date.
