Senior sprinter Brennan Edmonds is fighting through wrist injury to compete for the Bombers.
The men’s track and field team competed at the University of Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday at the Penn Relays. The Bombers posted two Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship qualifiers over the weekend in the 4×100-meter relay and the 4×800-meter relay.
Unusual weather circumstances and a slick running surface were not enough to slow the men’s track and field team down as the Blue and Gold fought through the wind and rain to win their sixth consecutive Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championship this past Saturday.
The men’s track and field team captured its sixth consecutive Empire 8 Conference Outdoor Championship and eighth in the past nine seasons Saturday in Butterfield Stadium. The Bombers’ final score was 230 points — 104 points higher than second place Stevens Institute of Technology.
While most people view the holidays as a time to relax at the end of a long semester, the athletes on the men’s indoor track team stick to rigorous exercise programs during the winter break.
The men’s indoor track team competed in its first meet of the 2011-12 season yesterday when they competed at the Cornell Relays in Cornell University’s Barton Hall.
