Over the past 30 years, college tuition prices at private four-year institutions have increased by 146 percent, according to the College Board. As costs rise, students are looking for new ways to pay.
Gerald Hector, vice president of finance and administration, will leave Ithaca College in July to serve as the vice president for financial affairs at Cornell University.

Freshman Brooke Ent is one of a number of Ithaca College students who are paying for college on their own. Ent said she is planning on continuing her education in Germany, where higher education is tuition-free.
