“[At Ithaca College, the] president, provost, general council, chief of staff, vice president for student affairs and campus life, vice president for marketing and enrollment strategy, vice president of human resources, athletic director, and four of five deans are women,” President La Jerne Cornish said at the Women in Leadership Panel on Sept. 27.

Ithaca College hosted a Women in Leadership Panel Sept. 27, coordinated by Julie Dorsey, chair and professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy.
In a May 3 email to the college community, President La Jerne Cornish announced that Ferro, who has worked at the college since 2017, will become the Chief of Education at College Track, an organization that works to aid students in confronting systemic barriers as they work to complete bachelor's degrees. College Track is currently led by former President Shirley M. Collado, who recently left the college Jan. 10, 2022. 

Vice president of Student Affairs to step down June 24

Rosanna Ferro, vice president for student affairs and campus life, is stepping down from her position and leaving Ithaca College June 24, 2022.
Angélica Carrington, director for the Center for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Social Change  (IDEAS), said by providing culturally validating spaces, the center works to empower marginalized students.

SGC talks student advocacy and hosts two guests speakers

Two guest speakers joined SGC at its March 28 meeting and imparted information about student advocacy, mental health and housing.
Dan Breen, associate professor in the Department of English and president of the college’s AAUP chapter, said using a search firm can potentially be expensive and may not necessarily produce a better candidate. Using executive search firms to search for president or provost positions can cost public universities up to $100,000 and potentially more.
