Dean search for School of HSHP begins with feedback session hosted by search firm

Ithaca College has been receiving help in its dean search for the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance by the executive search firm, WittKieffer. The search firm hosted a listening session Sept. 19 to inform their consultants in the search, Sandra Chu and Sarah Seavey, of what the campus community is looking for in a new dean. 
Anne Hogan joined Ithaca College as the inaugural dean of the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance (MTD) on Aug. 1. She most recently served at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee, as the dean of the College of Communication and Fine Arts.

Amy Falkner has been appointed as the new dean of Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications and will succeed Jack Powers, professor in the Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies, who has been serving as interim dean of the Park School since 2020.

Amy Falkner has been appointed as the new dean of Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications and will begin her new position at the college Aug. 1, 2022.
Ivy Walz served as the interim dean of the School of Music during the 2021–22 academic year. In 2020, Walz stepped into an administrative role as assistant dean after former dean Karl Paulnack stepped down at the end of the 2019–20 academic year. 

Dean search finalists for the School of Music hold open sessions

Students and faculty attended open sessions held by the final three candidates for the dean of the School of Music, Theatre and Dance from May 16–18.
Michael Johnson-Cramer has been appointed as the new dean of the Ithaca College School of Business and will succeed Alka Bramhandkar, professor in the Department of Finance and International Business, who has been serving as interim dean of the School of Business since 2020.

Bramhandkar began working in the School of Business in 1984. She will fill the interim dean position until the college appoints a permanent dean.

Business School dean to leave Ithaca College on July 1

Sean Reid, dean of the School of Business at Ithaca College, will be leaving the college to start a new position July 1.
The additional recommendations include: Create a streamlined undergraduate application process, increase flexibility of the curriculum, make the faculty workload more equitable, revise and implement the course schedule, establish centralized management of graduate programs and reevaluate course caps.
