Q&A: Longtime IC Student Health Services employee promoted

Jennifer Metzgar has been appointed as the new director for Student Health Services at Ithaca College, replacing former director, Ellyn Selin-Sellers.
The college sent out an alert Feb. 2, notifying the campus community of the changes. The college said they will continue to review the weather forecast and ongoing conditions.

Severe weather conditions move IC to remote learning Feb. 3

Courses at Ithaca College will be through remote instruction Feb. 3 because of severe weather conditions, but essential staff will arrive for a normal work day. 
In a campus-wide email June 14, Bonnie Prunty, vice president for Student Affairs and Campus Life, announced that the partnership will continue the relationship that the college has formed with CHS and improve student health services. 

Cold and flu season creates confusion with COVID-19

As the season changes, some students have been feeling run down with a variety of symptoms as a result of the cold and flu season. 
Currently, students are able to schedule an appointment for a flu shot Monday through Friday at the Hammond Health Center.

Ithaca College normally holds an annual flu vaccination Point of Dispensing exercise, but the POD event for this academic year is not yet confirmed.
Ithaca College released its new spectator policy Aug. 31, setting guidelines for games on campus. The policy requires masks at indoor events but encourages them outdoors.

New spectator policy puts IC fans back in the stands

Following a spring season of sporting events with no fans in the stands, Ithaca College has announced that full capacity crowds will be back in place this fall for all venues that host athletic events
The college began welcoming students and faculty back to campus Aug. 10 for the fall semester and for in-person classes with few health and safety guidelines still in place. In order to return to campus, all students were required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Ithaca College students react to return to normal

Ithaca College has gradually returned to in-person classes and normal dining services, but reinstated mask wearing indoors for Fall 2021.
In April 2021, the college announced that all students must be vaccinated in order to return to campus for the fall semester. Students were required to submit their vaccination cards to the Hammond Health Center by July 19.
