President Cornish co-signs statement against “government intrusion” on higher education

President La Jerne Cornish joined with over 150 higher education institutions across the country to co-sign a statement April 22 against President Donald Trump and his administration’s attacks on higher education. This is the largest sign that educational institutions are creating an allied front against the Trump administration, according to the Guardian.

Ithaca College ranked No. 12 on the "Regional Universities North" list in the U.S. News & World Report’s annual college ranking list, a drop from previous years.
As the graduates turned their tassels from the right to the left, and as blue and white confetti shot up into the air, the Class of 2022’s journey at Ithaca College came to a close.

While many members of IC are happy to have a president who is familiar with the college some are raising concerns about transparency in the search.
Members of Faculty Council were able to share their concerns and questions about the changes made to their dental plan that was enacted this year, elected the executive committee and held an executive session for about an hour at its final meeting of the semester. Both the 2021–22 and 2022–23 faculty council members were present for the meeting.
