Over the past several years, the Ithaca College administration has bought a number of properties surrounding the college; most recently they purchased 917 Danby Road and 929-931 Danby Road in July 2023.

IC buys up properties on Danby Road to prevent unwanted development

Ithaca College bought two properties in July on Danby Road for over $1 million, adding to its collection that includes five other properties on Danby Road. These purchases are made to prevent unwanted development and to provide temporary employee housing. 
The Board of Trustees of Ithaca College announced in October 2017 that 2 Fountain Place, the former presidential residence, was going to be put on the market.

A monthly economic review of the City of Ithaca by the Ithaca College Department of Economics reported that the business index reached a record-breaking high during the month of July due to a boom in job growth and in the hospitality sectors.
Organizers take part in the groundbreaking ceremony for Seneca Way on Wednesday. The 56,000 feet apartment complex will be located at the base of East Hill.
