On Feb. 3, a snowstorm brought over 10 inches of snow to Tompkins County, forcing many schools to briefly shut down. On Feb. 3 and Feb. 4, Ithaca College chose to hold remote instruction and students did not receive a typical snow day. 

Remote course instruction makes school snow days obsolete

With the COVID-19 pandemic, instruction over Zoom has become a common alternative to in-person instruction for Ithaca College.
Members of Faculty Council were able to share their concerns and questions about the changes made to their dental plan that was enacted this year, elected the executive committee and held an executive session for about an hour at its final meeting of the semester. Both the 2021–22 and 2022–23 faculty council members were present for the meeting. 

Faculty Council discusses college’s retention rates

During the Ithaca College Faculty Council's meeting, methods to increase the college's retention rates were discussed.
The college sent out an alert Feb. 2, notifying the campus community of the changes. The college said they will continue to review the weather forecast and ongoing conditions.

Severe weather conditions move IC to remote learning Feb. 3

Courses at Ithaca College will be through remote instruction Feb. 3 because of severe weather conditions, but essential staff will arrive for a normal work day. 
Most classes that are currently being offered for Fall 2021 are in-person and operating normally. Students are wearing masks but there is little to no social distancing in place and classrooms are back to full capacity after there were guidelines regarding both in place the previous semester.
