SGC shares election votes after controversial decision to withhold counts

Vote counts from the Spring 2023 Ithaca College Student Governance Council elections revealed that first-year student Matthew Williams — who was disqualified — beat the elected president by 83 votes.
The Ithaca College Student Governance Council (SGC) introduced all new executive board and senate members, discussed the fall elections and talked about ongoing student concerns at its meeting Aug. 29.

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council (SGC) had its first meeting of the 2022–23 academic year Aug. 29.
The student body elected senators to seven out of 25 senate positions along with IC United as the executive ticket. The remaining positions, as well as the Class of 2026 senator position, will be open to run for during the Fall 2022 elections.

SGC holds platform presentations for the 2022–23 academic year

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council (SGC) held platform presentations where students running for the SGC executive board and senate for the 2022–23 academic year announced their candidacy. 
Since junior Déontea Guy, former SGC president, resigned in November 2021, members of SGC have had to distribute the responsibilities of the president among themselves.

SGC president position to remain unfilled for Spring 2022

SGC has decided to leave the position of president unfilled for Spring 2022 following junior Deontae Guy’s resignation from the position in November 2021. 
Freshmen Paloma La Valley and Noah Richardson were elected as Class of 2025 senators, freshman Vincent Tavernese was elected as the School of Music senator, sophomore Casey Ingraham was elected as transfer senator and junior Lauren Hitesman was elected as varsity athlete senator.

The Student Governance Council (SGC) has elected senators for the Class of 2025, School of Music, Transfer and Varsity Athlete positions.
Freshmen Paloma La Valley and Noah Richardson were elected as Class of 2025 senators, freshman Vincent Tavernese was elected as the School of Music senator, sophomore Casey Ingraham was elected as transfer senator and junior Lauren Hitesman was elected as varsity athlete senator.

SGC to hold platform presentations for Fall 2021 elections

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council (SGC) will be holding platform presentations for the Fall 2021 elections at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 over Zoom.  
The SGC expressed its dissatisfaction with the college’s response to anti-Asian violence during its March 22 meeting. Senior Agnes Scotti, Class of 2021 senator, said she does not feel that a statement is enough to address the issue of racism.

SGC elections for 2019–20 academic year announced
