Ithaca College’s solar panel farm appears to be on its way to reaching its goal of covering 10 percent of the college’s energy needs.

Ithaca College solar array is officially operational

The college is not receiving the energy produced from the array directly — it is dispersed in the New York State power grid.
Some colleges and universities are covering all of their energy needs by renewable sources. Despite the progress made with Ithaca Colleges recent solar project, when comparing the college’s 10 percent to numerous other colleges and universities, the college does not measure up.
