Junior Syd Pierre was interviewed for the role of editor in chief of The Ithacan by the Board of Publications on April 7 and was appointed shortly after with recommendation from the Board of Publications and approval from the dean of the Roy H. Park School of Communications.

Junior Syd Pierre has been named the editor in chief of The Ithacan for the 2023–24 academic year.

Student journalists are local journalists. I’ve learned more from managing and working in a student newsroom than I have in my journalism classes.
Junior Alexis Manore began working at The Ithacan her freshman year as the Student Governance Council beat reporter. She has also served as an assistant news editor during the 2019–20 academic year and news editor during the 2020–21 academic year.
