Ithaca College’s Textor 102 was crowded with almost 300 students, faculty, staff and community members April 13. Experts offered firsthand accounts of international sustainability efforts, urging audience members to get involved with local efforts any way they can.

Community groups object to jail expansion

Community groups across Tompkins County are mobilizing to question an approved $900,000 county jail expansion project, which would increase the co-ed facility by seven additional beds, allow for internal renovations and strengthen its security and control systems.
More than 20 Ithaca locals gathered near Rep. Tom Reed's office on East MLK Street on Tuesday. They criticized the tension in federal government, which caused a shutdown just minutes before midnight.
