Workers debate over NY state’s minimum wage for tipped employees

The New York state minimum wage for tipped employees makes getting by increasingly difficult, Eric Byrd, a tipped worker at a local pizza place, said.
Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick and Pete Meyers, coordinator of the Tompkins County Workers Center, called for more living wage employers at the TCWCs living wage celebration, Jan. 29.

Workers’ Center pushes for higher minimum wage

Community members, local government officials and business owners gathered on Jan. 29 at the Tompkins County Workers’ Center to celebrate recent achievements for living wages in Ithaca.
Members and supporters of the Tompkins County Workers Center gathered Sept. 17 outside of  the Tompkins County Legislature, rallying for the implementation of a county-wide living wage.

City named certified living-wage employer

Workers’ Center discusses living wage at Labor Day community picnic
