Ithaca College athletics wrapped up its fall season with many achievements under each squad's belt. Football, field hockey and sophomore Kyla Eisman of women's cross country made it into NCAA tournament play.
Unlike most athletes, long-distance runners often participate in three separate competition seasons throughout the academic year: cross country in the fall, indoor track in the winter and outdoor track in the spring. This rigorous schedule — usually with no more than a week off between racing periods — comes with a great responsibility to manage not only time and academics, but also stress and injury prevention.
After the exciting and emotional conclusion to the 2022 season, the Ithaca College women’s cross country team has continued its training and regrouped in preparation for the upcoming season.
The women’s team finished in third place out of 11 teams with 81 points and the men’s team finished in sixth place out of 14 teams with 171 points.
Ithaca College's new women's cross country coach, Erin Dinan, is looking to create her own legacy as she takes over for program founder Bill 'Wally' Ware.
