The Ithaca College men’s and women’s cross-country teams traveled to Glassboro, New Jersey for the Rowan University Border Clash, where both sides competed in the NCAA pre-regionals on Oct. 15. The women placed fourth and the men’s squad placed 16th.
The women’s team competed against 44 teams in the 6K championship race, totaling 211 points.
Junior Taryn Cordani led the Bombers, finishing second out of 386 runners with a time of 20:28.7. Junior Denise Ibarra set the second fastest time for the women’s squad, finishing in 19th place with a time of 21:26.9.
The men’s team participated in the 7.8K championship race against 42 teams and totaled 400 points.
Senior Sean Phillips led the men’s squad, finishing 11th out of 383 runners with a time of 23:48.1. Junior Tim Chappell ran the second fastest time for the men’s team, finishing in 41st place with a time of 24:30.7.
The Bombers will race again at 11 a.m. Oct. 29 when they travel to Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, to compete in the Empire 8 Championships.
