IC crew and sculling race in Head of the Schuylkill

The Ithaca College crew and sculling teams competed in the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 29.

In the single sculling race, junior Karina Feitner placed ninth with a time of 19:03.4. Senior Emily Vosburg placed 13th with a time of 19:44.233, and right behind her was sophomore Lindsey Caliga in 14th with a time of 20:06.561.

Senior Jacqueline McDevitt and senior Maddie Peterson placed fifth in the doubles race with a time of 19:10.097. The team of junior Libby Burns and senior Tara Malone finished in sixth place, while junior Katie Lawson and senior Maeve Berry finished in seventh.

In the women’s fours, the Bombers placed 12th, crossing the finish line in 17:39.291. In the novice 8, the two boats finished in fourth and 10th, with times of 17:10.732 and 18:06.960, respectively. In the championship 8, the Blue and Gold finished in 16:40.150, which put them in 18th place overall.

Becky Robinson, women’s crew head coach, and Beth Greene, assistant women’s crew coach and sculling coach, also competed at the regatta. In the masters race, they took home the top spot with a time of 18:20.836.

On the men’s side, the varsity four boats placed fourth and 12th with times of 15:31.059 and 16:14.364. In the championship 8 race, the Bombers finished in 15:10.962, placing them in 26th.

The sculling team will race in its last regatta of the season at 8 a.m. Nov. 5 at the Collegiate Small Boat Challenge in Mercer, New Jersey. The men’s crew will race again at 1 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Frostbite Regatta in Mercer, New Jersey.
