Julie Boden Adams was hired as the next executive director of Hillel at Ithaca College. The announcement was made June 6 by the college’s Hillel staff and Board of Directors.
Adams will succeed Lauren Goldberg, who announced in a Feb.15 email to the college community that she will be leaving the position in July. In the email, Goldberg said she made the decision to depart from the college to spend more time with her family.
Adams will begin as the next executive director July 8. She previously worked as an attorney and was associate general counsel and director of the Global Practice at New York University from 2011 to 2021. She also worked as the assistant university counsel at Long Island University from 2009 to 2010. After working as an attorney, she opened Julie Boden Adams Employment Law in July 2021 but will not continue at her firm while working at the college.
She attended Cornell University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations in 2001 and a Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School in 2004. Adams served as a volunteer in the Jewish community through Cornell Law School Dean’s Special Leadership Committee and as chair of the Board Advancement Committee of Speyer Legacy School.
“Hillel profoundly impacted my Jewish journey as a college student, and I am excited to help provide a safe and joyful place for the next generation,” Adams said in the announcement.
