The Blue and Gold hit .220 as a team over the course of the three sets, whereas the Golden Eagles finished with a -.045 hitting percentage. Freshman outside hitter Hailey Adler paced the Bombers’ offense, finishing the evening with eight kills and two service aces. Freshman middle hitter Amanda Cerruti also put up a strong offensive effort with seven kills to go along with five blocks on the evening. Sophomore setter Kayla Gromen led the South Hill squad with 25 assists and also added nine digs, six kills and three service aces.

The volleyball team faced a tough back-and-forth contest against New Paltz, needing five games to take care of the Hawks. The Blue and Gold took the first set 25–23 and dropped the second set 25–19. The squad then came back in the third set, taking it 25–23, but ultimately lost the fourth set 25–17. However, the Bombers fought tooth and nail in the fifth set that went point-for-point, winning 15–13.

The Blue and Gold were led offensively by sophomore outside hitter Joelle Goldstein, who racked up 17 kills for the Bombers. Goldstein was also solid on defense, collecting 16 digs over the course of the match. Freshman middle hitter Katie Evans also collected double digit kills for the South Hill squad, compiling 13 kills. Adler and sophomore Caroline Gerulskis rounded out the top offensive performances for the Bombers, finishing with 12 and 10 kills, respectively.

Gromen put up a career-high 52 assists in the match to go along with 11 digs and three kills. Alder paced the Blue and Gold’s defense, putting up team-high 17 digs.  The Bombers are back in action Sept. 19 against tournament-host Ramapo College at 11 a.m., and they finish out the weekend against SUNY Potsdam at 1 p.m.
